Mission Statement for 2009

The Lynn Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Inc. (LHSF) was established in 1991 by a group of concerned citizens, of the community of Lynn . In 1992 was incorporated as Massachusetts non- profit organization.

Our mission is to provide annual scholarships to our students, who are graduating from each Lynn High Schools , encouraging and motivating them to continue their education, giving the opportunity to go to college or university. LHSF gives scholarships to recipients who are determined by a yearly elected committee. Recipients are chosen based upon academic achievement, personal strengths, community services and financial need. Students must be graduating seniors from any of the Lynn ’s High Schools, Hispanic or of Hispanic ancestry background.

We know that high education is one goal that can only be obtained with support, effort and sacrifice. The LHSF works with the community looking for support and help with the mission of giving our students the opportunity to continue their education. Our program receives numerous calls from students who are looking for our financial help. We can only provide that help if all of us work together. Our organization has had a great impact in our community giving the opportunity to all our students of this city to apply for scholarship funds.

Students deserve to have the opportunity to go onto higher education once they have finished high school, and this is our goal, provide them with the financial help, it is up to us to give them the support and help that they need in order for them to obtain a career that will one day be beneficial not only to themselves and their family, but to our big community of Lynn. Our community future is in their hands.
